July 9th: Yoga – Find Your Roots, Build Stability
In this all-levels class, students will explore the use of resistance bands to practice foot and ankle stability before progressing through variations of some familiar balancing poses, like Natarajasana (dancer pose). Bands will be provided and modifications of poses will be offered to accommodate all levels.
About Dr. Keira Penpeci:
Kiera is a 200-hr RYT and Threes Physiyoga Certified teacher based in Boston’s South End. Her instruction is based on the Physiyoga approach, which combines physical therapy principles with yoga. In her classes, she uses knowledge of joint mechanics and muscle physiology to teach movements for longevity and injury recovery. You can expect sessions that use props as neuromuscular feedback to prioritize sensory awareness, strength and stability before progressing to more complex flexibility and balance focused poses.
